How to Retreive Your Acura Radio and Navigation Codes

 

If your battery dies or is disconnected, the anti-theft radio will lock.  Resetting the radio and navigation system is a simple process.  Depending on the year and model of your Acura, you may need an Acura Radio Code to unlock your radio (see list below of vehicles that no longer require a Radio Code to activate your radio.

Acura models that do not require an Acura Radio Code and how to reactivate your radio

  • 2013 and newer ILX
  • 2013 and newer RDX
  • 2014 and newer MDX
  • 2014 and newer RLX
  • 2015 and newer TLX
  • 2017 and newer NSX
  1. Set the power mode to ON.
  2. Turn on the audio system.
  3. Press and hold the audio system power button for more than two seconds.
  4. The audio system is reactivated when the audio control unit establishes a connection with the vehicle control unit.
  5. If the control unit fails to recognize the audio unit, the audio system may prompt you to enter PIN code.
  6. Enter the audio security code using the On Demand Multi-Use Display. (ODMD)  If you enter an incorrect digit, continue to the last digit, then try again.  If you do not enter the code correctly after 10 tries, leave the system for one hour before trying again, or visit Acura of Brookfield to have the system reset.

How to Find Your Radio Code

  • Check in your glove box.  Look for a radio code card or sticker on the wall inside.
  • If you are unable to locate the radio code, we can assist you.  If you purchased your Acura at our store, we may be able to provide you this information upon verifying you are the owner of the vehicle.  You can call us at 262-565-6519.
  • You can also obtain your radio code online at https://radio-navicode.acura.com/.  You will need your vehicle identification number (VIN) and the device serial number.

How to Find Your VIN

Your vehicle identification number (VIN) is a 17-digit alpha numeric code unique to your vehicle.

  • At the base of the windshield on the driver's side'
  • Inside the driver's door jamb.
  • Your vehicle's registration
  • Your insurance card

Find the Device Serial Number

Anti-Theft Identification Card

  • Check for an Anti-Theft Identification Card which is usually placed in the glove box with the owner's manuals.

For 2001 and later models, you can also find the device serial number on the device display.

2001 and newer Radio Display

  • Turn the ignition to ON.
  • Turn ON the device and confirm that the display read COdE.  If you don't see this message, pull the backup fuse for 1 minute, and then go back to step 1.
  • Turn OFF the device.
  • Press and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons, and turn ON the device.
  • The display toggles between two screens: U with the first 4 digits of the serial number (U2200 for example) and L with the last 4 digits of the serial number (L0055 for example).
  • Ignore the U and L and record all 8 digits.

For 2004-2008 Acura TSX with Navigation System

2004-2008 Acura TSX with Navigation

  • Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
  • Turn on the audio unit, and make sure you see COdE in the upper display.  If you don't see this message, pull the backup fuse for 1 minutes, and then go back to set up 1.
  • Turn off the audio unit.
  • Press and hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then press and release the PWR/VOL knob.  This display toggles between two screens.
  • The first screen displays a U and the first four digits of the serial number (for example, U2200).
  • The second screen displays an L and the last four digits of the serial number (for example, L0055).
  • Ignore the U and L, and write down all eight digits.
